Lahore’s Chief Traffic Officer has implemented new rules for heavy vehicles on the busy Raiwind Road, a bold step toward making the streets safer. This project is an integral part of a larger plan to address the problem of car accidents and make the daily traffic mess, which resembles a complicated dance of metal and rubber, easier to handle.

Changes to Navigation Ahead

Heavy vehicles trying to get onto Raiwind Road from Thokar Niaz Baig are not allowed to do so from dawn until eleven o’clock at night. Instead, these huge vehicles will be gently guided to other routes, such as:

  • Manga Mandi
  • Multan Road
  • Sundar Road

This ban also applies to cars that are driving from Kahna Kacha to Defence Road, which will make the trip easier for everyone.

Guardians of the Road: How to Use and Stay Safe

Divisional SPs and circle officers have taken up their posts like guards of safety to make sure this new rule is followed without fail. More police officers are ready to help along Raiwind Road. Their presence is a comforting shield against chaos. Forklifts and other heavy machinery are also on standby, ready to quickly remove any vehicles that are parked in the wrong place and restore order where it may be lacking.

The CTO stresses that these actions are not just bureaucratic moves; they show a real commitment to protecting lives and property. He is excited to see a significant drop in accidents as the plan takes effect. Only heavy vehicles with valid fitness certificates will be able to enter the heart of the city at night, keeping unsafe transportation out.
