In a major overhaul that aligns with the current modeling approach, the Punjab Safe City project is transitioning away from the conventional email-based system for traffic e-challans. These notices will no longer end up in a newspaper; they will land, instead, literally right into the fingertips of the people by way of WhatsApp.

This new idea provides users with quick access to their challenging information, allowing them to view corresponding images instantly using their registered WhatsApp numbers.

Registered WhatsApp Numbers Will Receive E-Challan Notifications

Omer Khayyam Nagra, the Director of Public Relations at the Punjab Safe Cities Authority (PSCA), told us that WhatsApp numbers registered in the excise database will receive these e-challans. Not only will the messages include the necessary information, but they will also feature a handy link for online payments. The old-fashioned way is that payments can still be made on the Safe Cities website.

The website. The new option, called the review, is on the site to facilitate concerned citizens’ appeals against a challan. Through this functionality, people can now place their appeals online, and the technical team will carefully scrutinize each request and make the appropriate revisions in the challan.

Digital Transformation for Smarter Traffic Management in Pakistan

This change marks an exit from the old habit of using email, which is very inefficient and often rather complex. The purpose of the new system is not merely to speed up procedures but to make the process a better experience for all citizens concerned.

This launch onto the digital platform puts Wise Wheels PK squarely in a position to help users in the challenging scenario of traffic management in Pakistan, making the process of e-challans as easy as a swipe on their phones.
