The introduction of the Tesla Cybertruck was such a spectacle that it gripped the minds of the population like few car introductions have. It was announced in 2019, and its avant-garde design drew attention, and, at one time, 2 million people had booked, an incredible surge of 2 million reservations. Jump forward to 2025, and the story has changed very drastically.<\/span><\/p>\n

Exuberance to Overabundance<\/b><\/h2>\n

Elon Musk came up with the Cybertruck, which had a touch that indicated a revolution in the pickup industry – but it seems this edgy product was not meant to appeal to every customer.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Fast Company Magazine, monthly sales of the Cybertruck continued to increase to 5,175 units in the middle of 2024, followed by a drop to around 2,000 units in April of 2025. Tesla has only sold 46,000 units since it began production in 2023. The situation got worse: Over 10,000 unsold Cybertrucks now sit in U.S. warehouses, a value of almost 800 million dollars of the vehicles, and demand keeps dropping.<\/span><\/p>\n

What went awry? Remarkably, what one might learn could be exposed to Pakistan, a country that is not generally recognized as having a presence in the avant-garde automotive development. This is a curious scenario which we shall consider.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Is The Cybertruck Not Selling?<\/b><\/h2>\n

There are several reasons why the Cybertruck is not selling like it should have been with its hyped hype. The electric pickup has faced challenges on a number of fronts:<\/span><\/p>\n

Price Disparity<\/b><\/h2>\n

Tesla started with an under-40-thousand-dollar base price for the Cybertruck. But the initial Founder\/ foundation Series models were at approximately $100,000- much higher than expected. Today, the base model costs around 79,000 dollars, which is two times the initial price target. Such a high rise caused a large number of the initial supporters to cancel reservations, undermining the brand’s confidence.<\/span><\/p>\n

Design and Quality Concerns<\/b><\/h2>\n

Tesla promoted its car as a tank and the embodiment of safety. However, after the statements of Elon Musk, a number of large Western YouTubers performed durability tests, which showed alarming findings:<\/span><\/p>\n

In one of the videos, WhistlinDiesel tried to demonstrate how to use a safety feature, but destroyed his fingers instead when the trunk latch suddenly dropped onto his fingers. In the same experiment, he noticed the chassis bending under tension and breaking in two.<\/span><\/p>\n

These fears were corroborated by another reviewer, JerryRigEverything, who carried out his own durability test, only to have the same disastrous failure of the truck structure.<\/span><\/p>\n

Oversized and Unwieldy<\/b><\/h2>\n

The Cybertruck weighs more than 6,000 pounds and has an ultra-stiffened stainless-steel exoskeleton, which raises serious safety issues. Analysts interviewed by Reuters indicated that its angular and rigid shape could cause terrible damage to pedestrians, cyclists, and the passengers of other cars.<\/span><\/p>\n

Pakistan’s Vision for Electrified Pickups<\/b><\/h2>\n

Whereas Tesla Cybertruck is in the slow lane, mixed up in hype and impracticality, the automotive industry in Pakistan is looking at electric trucks through the prism of accessibility and utility, and local demand.<\/span><\/p>\n
